I respectfully acknowledge the First Peoples of Australia, who were and are the keepers of their cultural and spiritual knowledge and traditions and the traditional owners of the land on which I live, travel and work.

I honour the elders of the past, the present, and the future and appreciate their continued connection to the land, the water, and the sky.

    The Urban Living Room

    The Library in the City

The Urban Living Room is a proposed library on Little Bourke Street, Melbourne. The library design activates Corrs Lane with a courtyard and a side entrance. The openings of the facade create visual connections between the library and Chinatown.

Libraries aren't just for books. They're often spaces that transform into what you need them to be: a classroom, a cyber café, a place to find answers, a quiet spot to be alone. The Urban Living Room aims to provide spatial flexibility for every user. It is a covered civic living room for social and cultural exchange, a place to access information and the public amenity.
