I respectfully acknowledge the First Peoples of Australia, who were and are the keepers of their cultural and spiritual knowledge and traditions and the traditional owners of the land on which I live, travel and work.

I honour the elders of the past, the present, and the future and appreciate their continued connection to the land, the water, and the sky.

    Melbourne Museum  Plaza

    Celebrating the Arts and Cultures

Positioned amidst the colonial legacy, the Royal Exhibition Building, and the postmodernist Melbourne Museum, the expansive open-air plaza lacks a distinct identity of its own. The Starry Promenade project aims to create a contemporary urban public space that promotes and celebrates Melbourne as a City for the Arts and Cultures.

The plaza explores the harmonious relationship between natural elements and urban functionality, which not only enhances the aesthetic appeal but also fosters community engagement and well-being, establishing it as an essential component of urban development. In response to the Museum's canopy and the site's microclimate, this project offers dynamic experiences with changing scenes through time.

Working with flexible furniture strategies and the seamless integration of technology with landscape architecture and art-making in a semi-natural setting, the design facilitates the provision of event facilities and encourages outdoor exhibitions and festivals that celebrate the spirit of modernity and multiculturalism in Melbourne.
